RICHARDSON, N. M. COX, JAMES RAY & B. A. BROOKS, his Securities are held and firmly bound unto the State of Tennessee in the penal sum of five hundred dollars, well and truly to be paid, but to be paid on condition that whereas the above-bound D. S. HUFHINES was on the 3rd day of August 1876 duly and legally elected Constable for the 3rd Civil Dist and is now about to enter upon the discharge of the duties of his said office. Now, if the said D. S. HUFHINES shall well and truly report and pay unto the proper authorities all monies by him collected or otherwise to be by him collected by virtue of his said office insuing from finds, forfeitures, and State and County tax under the small office law, then this bond to be paid, otherwise to be and remain in full force and effect. Now, if said tools shall be used upon the Publick Road and for no other purpose and turn the same over to his successor, then this bon to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect. Leaving George Huffines, Melissa Russell, wife of Elmer Russel, Daniel Huffines, Samuel Gallagher Huffines, Rufus Huffines, Amanda Huffines, wife of Frank Huffines, Mary Russell, wife of Samuel Russell, Howard Huffines, Wade H. Huffines, William B. Huffines & Sarah Huffines his only children and heirs. He had land on War Trace Creek in District No. 3 of Jackson County containing about 300 acres bounded by Samuel A. Carver and Joseph Carver on the north by Sneeds land on the East, by the land of heirs of James H. Carver & John P. Carver on the South and lands of John S. Bryant on the west.
