Cemeteries are more than just our final resting place. In many cases, they can be a genealogist's dream. Tombstone inscriptions, especially, the older ones, oftentimes contain important clues about our ancestors, such as their date of birth, date of death, and date of marriage. I have seen, in the older stones, engravings of entire family units! Things like the size of the stone and the type and amount of engraving on it are clues to the financial welfare of our ancestors.
Aside from all the tangible evidence we can collect, we can make a real, physical connection with someone whom otherwise we would never be able to "meet."
Listed here are cemetery locations and tombstone inscriptions of some of the Huffines family. Bear in mind that this is a work in progress, and more names will be added as the information becomes available. If you know of others, please contact me, and I'll be sure to list them.
